Mukta Sambrani

English Language Arts Teacher since the school’s inception in 2006-2007, and more recently as Teacher Representative to the Governing Board, Mukta Sambrani continues to serve the Oakland Aviation High School educational community with dedication and rigor.

Born and raised in India, where she taught English and worked as a journalist, Mukta moved to the United States to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing, which came to be her new home. A published poet and a committed educator, her lessons combine themes of social justice and real world relevance with literary scholarship and the love of language and writing.
